Analysis of 3D Transient Flow in a High-Speed Scroll Refrigeration Compressor

In mobile devices such as aircraft and electric vehicles, due to limited space, there are strict requirements on the volume weight of compressor mounted vehicle. Therefore, high-speed scroll compressors have attracted more attention because their small size light weight. this paper, numerical calculations analysis three-dimensional (3D) transient flows in a refrigeration were established validated. Circumferential gas intake was used simulation. According actual size, mesh generation accurately considers clearances. The radial axial clearances both set 0.01 mm. A dynamic high-quality hexahedral structured generated for working chamber, problem insufficient grid density clearance solved. When rotational speed 3000 rpm, 6000 9000 rpm alternatively, difference efficiency simulation experiment results below 6.3%. show that higher contributed greater pressure fluctuation compression chamber discharge process, over-compression phenomenon obvious. maximum leakage velocity 160 m/s, tangential than velocity. Meanwhile, will increase significantly operation mode. With increasing speed, position closer start scroll. seal starting part is very important design compressor.
